Coach Scott
Summer Season

Coach Scott has been coaching Spirit Swim Team for the past 7 summer and winter seasons. Coach Scott swam competitively from age 6 to 18. During his youth he ranked amongst the fastest swimmers in the Princemont Swim League (MD) where he still has records that are standing 25+ years later and swam for the MD Allstar Team (USA Swimming) at the Eastern Zone Championships at age 14. He was ranked top 16 in high school in the state and finished his high school swimming career with a Regional Championship Title (1st ever for Bowie High School), 1st Team All County swimming honors and was inducted into the Bowie High School Athletic Hall of Fame for swimming. He is incredibly passionate about the sport and is constantly learning new training techniques and methods to help train his swimmers to be the best they can be.
Coach Kelly
Winter Season

Kelly grew up in Montgomery county, where she swam competitively from ages 5-18. She was a member of the Rockville Montgomery Swim club, where she swam year round, as well as a member of the Tanterra Swim Team and Sherwood high School team, where she served as captain her senior year.
After high school, she attended University of South Carolina, where she majored in Nursing. She has been a postpartum nurse for the last 11 years, and is now married with 3 children of her own.
She was first introduced to the spirit swim team this past summer, when her oldest and middle children swam on the team for their first season! Living so close to the water, she is a firm believer in the importance of raising competent swimmers as well as developing a love for the sport from an early age. She is looking forward to coaching this season and hopes to make a positive impact on the team!
Coach Stephen
Assistant Coach

Coach Stephen has been a member of the Spirit Swim team since fifth grade and has been a volunteer assistant coach since 2016. Stephen swam for TCY throughout elementary, and middle school and junior year of high school. He is currently finishing his bachelors degree in biology. And, he will be pursuing his education with advanced degrees in either medicine or biochemistry. As a swimmer, he competed year round for both TCY and Spirit swim teams. Both teams imparted on him the necessary skills to be a competent and competitive swimmer. His strive for excellence and commitment, coupled with his experience are key elements in supporting swim team members with reaching their competitive swimming goals. He is looking forward to propelling Spirit into a new era of speed and excellence.
Coach Camryn
Jr. Coach

Coach Camryn has been swimming competitively since she was seven. She swam for Spirit, TCY, and Kent Island High School, where she served as co-captain senior year. She is currently swimming for D2 Kutztown University as she pursues a degree in Psychology. Her experiences from all teams have provided her with the skills needed to support other members of the swim team. Coach Camryn is looking forward to supporting our swimmers as they work to meet their goals!
Coach Sofia
Jr. Coach

Coach Sofia has been part of the Spirit Swim Team since third grade, bringing years of dedication, passion, and experience to the pool. Throughout elementary, middle school, and into her sophomore year of high school, she trained and competed with both Spirit and the TCY swim teams, swimming year-round and building a strong foundation in competitive swimming. Now finishing her bachelor’s degree in Biology, Sofia is preparing to pursue an advanced degree in medicine. Her background as a student-athlete, combined with her academic drive, allows her to connect with swimmers on both a personal and performance level. Coach Sofia is passionate about helping young athletes grow in and out of the water, and she’s excited to give back to the team that helped shape her.
Coach Maddie
Jr. Coach

Coach Maddie swam competitively on spirit for 10 years and also swam for TCY and Kent Island High school where she served as captain her senior year. She is now attending James Madison University to study International Business and is also on the club swim team.
